City Rain!

“Genres go hot and cold, but the unique craft of song writing goes beyond style and can come in many shapes and forms. City Rain understands this, and if I’m Gone is any indicator, synth rock just may be on the rise.” -Migrate Music New
City Rain is Ben Runyan and Jarrett Zerrer, an electro-pop duo from Philadelphia. Taking their cues from artists as diverse as La Roux, Above & Beyond, Nitrous Oxide, and Depeche Mode, City Rain have created a unique an accessible form of music combining dancefloor beats, soulful vocals, keyboard riffs, and fuzzy, hooky guitar licks. Equal parts space-rock and acid-laced ear candy, the band sits in that comfortable zone between art-rock and liquid electro jams.
With the 2011 release of their video for the single I’m Gone and accompanying EP, City Rain has received nationwide attention from the blogosphere and conventional media alike, recording a broadcast for Philadelphia’s WXPN 88.5 FM, while continuing to remix and release new material of their own and other artists. Now with plans for a national tour in 2012, City Rain is poised to bring their music to an even wider audience.
